The Sachs Harbour RCMP detachment was officially opened July 10, 2008. In attendance for the GNWT were Premier Floyd Roland, Justice Minister Jackson Lafferty, Nunakput MLA Jackie Jacobson and former Justice Minister Brendan Bell.
